# Shimmer

Shimmer is the network that supports the infrastructure for the Shimmer Ethereum Virtual Machine (ShimmerEVM) that the RRCC launched on.

Shimmer has a native token also called Shimmer and written as **SMR** or **$SMR**.

To interact with the Shimmer Network or the ShimmerEVM network you first need to first get hold of $SMR token and send it to your Shimmer wallet before you can play on the Shimmer EVM.
